Gulp!

If it wasn't for those meddling kids...

Here's a mandela Effect which will bring a smile to many people who grew up on Scooby Doo and his spooky adventures, and maybe a puzzled frown too. Didn't Shaggy always have a huge Adams apple in his throat, which was particularly prone to bouncing up and down each time he gulped - either in fear or because he was hungry?

Many people swear this was the case, but when you look at the originals today there is little evidence of it.

Perhaps the Mystery Machine ghosted it away?

Games

There's some evidence of Shaggys Adams apple in the video game versions of Scooby Doo - the SNES version in particular.

Fun fact: Shaggy's real name is Norville Rogers. Zoinks! So many people of a certain age (i.e. baby boomers) remember Scooby Doo and Shaggy's antics from when they were growing up, and the show was on TV for the first time. Then, their kids got the thrill all over again in the early 2000's as the Scooby Doo movies came out, and interest in the original cartoons kicked up all over again.

Not only games show the residue, but parodies do too. Shaggy from animated show Daria has an Adam's apple. New Adventures of Mighty Mouse parodied Shaggy, and he has an Adam's apple. The most recent 2015 version of Shaggy in "Be Cool Scooby Doo" has an Adams apple.

Some are saying that after being alerted to the missing Adams apple, they watched the shows again and have seen a small one is their briefly, usually when Shaggy is hungry or scared, but it's so quick you can easily miss it and it's nothing like as prominent, or as frequent as they remember.
