Changes in people and familiar locations

In 2002 I was working for a law firm in Texas. I commuted to work every day about 60 miles one way. I had made the trip for several years uneventfully until one morning I decided to stop for a snack at a newly opened Eckerd Drug Store located about a block away from the law office. I parked and as I went through the front door I felt something like a discharge of static electricity and smelled ozone for a moment but though nothing of it and went on in. I went to the clerk and asked where the pop tarts were and she said in the back left corner of the store on the second shelf from the bottom at the very back. I went there got my snack paid and left. When I reached the firm and entered my office something was different. A couple of thing I kept on my desk were not there and I thought the cleaning crew had either taken them or moved them. They were not valuable so I just put it out of my mind and went on as I was very busy. I finished the day and returned home and then I realized something was very wrong. A picture my father painted of a couple of dogs had hung in the hall for years was gone. I asked my wife where the picture was and she looked at me as if I were crazy and said, “There has never been a picture on that wall and I don’t remember your father ever painting a picture like that.”

It only got weirder from there. I found my memories differed sometimes drastically from my wife, relatives and children. I came to think they were not my family at all even though they seemed to be and looked just like everyone I knew and loved. Eventually I had to accept the fact I will now living in some other dimension just like the one I had existed in for 50 years but with slight and sometime vast differences. I researched it out in every way I could even talked to physics professors and all we could determine is somehow when I entered that store I switched places with my static self in an alternate dimension. I even returned to that same store and went to the back left corner of the store to find it completely different in layout. I went to the same clerk and ask, “Where are your pop tarts?” she replied, “In the back right hand corner of the store”. I was shocked to say the least and asked, “Please take me there and show me.” She did and as she said they were there in the exact same location they had been on the left rear corner of the store they were now on the right. I then ask, “How long have you worked here?” She replied since the store opened. I then ask who stocked the store and she said she had and the arrangement of the store was exactly as it was from the day the store opened.

I do not thing the Mandela Effect is the right term. Somehow dimension doors open or are somehow triggered by an event and if someone happens to be at the right place at the wrong moment in time we pass through that door into an alternate static dimension. We live and exist in the Dynamic and exact duplicates of us exist in the Static (other dimensions) and sometimes we change places because the static and dynamic cannot exist in the same place together.

This isn't the only story like that I read on the Internet by far. One day scientists will be able to detect these parallel worlds I'm sure.
